Sir Francis Drake & Lord Howard

Pair of Victorian stained glass windows, c1850.
Both windows leaded and hand painted with a central cartouche depicting Elizabethan Gentlemen.

Below is Charles Howard, 1st Earl of Nottingham, also
known as Lord Howard of Effingham,
High Admiral and
commander-in-chief of the English fleet against the
Spanish Armada.
Below is Sir Francis Drake, navigator, politician and
second-in-command of the English fleet against
the
Spanish Armada.


Finished with a decorative hand painted outside border of elongated crowns and motifs. Both windows have been restored and with lead and glass in excellent condition.
Must sell as a pair.
